Homework & Knowledge Organisers

At Hope Academy, homework plays a vital part in every student’s learning journey by complementing and reinforcing students understanding of the curriculum, fostering good lifelong learning and study habits, and providing an opportunity for students to be responsible for their own learning. Homework contributes to the development of our students’ self-responsibility, independent learning, and resilience.

Knowledge organisers are used as a homework strategy across subjects, so that students have the opportunity to revisit and elaborate on the knowledge that they have explored throughout the curriculum, and in turn facilitate a deeper understanding of their subjects. Subject knowledge organisers can be found on Arbor and in student’s books.

After each homework activity that students are assigned by their teachers on Arbor, there will be feedback activity in lesson that links to this so that students are able to develop their understanding further and given clear feedback on homework tasks.
